Prof. Dr Hartmut Rosa will deliver keynote speech on "What is the sociological context of Europe".
Rosa is a sociologist and political scientist, and currently Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Sociology at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, as well as Director of the Max Weber Center for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies at the University of Erfurt, Germany.
He has worked with the New School for Social Research in New York and the universities of Augsburg, Duisburg-Essen and Manheim, among others, and is considered a leading representative of new critical theory. His research interests are the sociology of time and identity formation. Notable amongst his publications are Social Acceleration (Columbia University Press, 2015), The Uncontrollability of the World (Polity Press, 2020), and Resonance: A Sociology of Our Relationship to the World (Polity Press, 2021).
Several honours that Hartmut has received for his work include the Werner Heisenberg Medal by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation,the Rob Rhoads Global Citizenship Education Award from the University of California and the Paul Watzlawick Ring of Honor.
